The recession that is making the winter gloomier in Britain will not stop Majorca holidaymakers enjoying the time of their lives.
That is the view of the president of the Majorcan Chamber of Commerce, Juan Gual, who has said the tourism industry will "guarantee" that the Balearics will not fall into recession.
Even in a recession, the sun still shines brightly, the Mediterranean is still crystal clear, Majorca's sands will stay golden and Brits will want to be assured of a good time on their holiday, the tourism chief believes.
According to the Majorca Daily Bulletin, travellers who gambled on staying in the UK this summer who were met with grey sky and endless rain have already booked their summer holidays for next summer in a place where sunshine is guaranteed.
It was reported that Majorca remains one of Europe's most popular destinations and anyone who is thinking about Majorca in 2009 could consider a visit to the soft, white, shelving sands of Alcudia to find out why.
