A festival is taking place in Majorca this month in celebration of all things female.
Ama Festival takes place in mid August in Pollensa old town and features a series of events including poetry and music.
The main aim of the festival is to promote information about Majorca, the contributions of women in Majorca and the world over to society.
Families on Majorca holidays can take part in workshops and listen to talks about proposed female solutions for the major problems of the world.
Through such mediums as photography, music, poetry, song and dance, the achievements of women in spite of prejudices and inequality will be demonstrated.
Events will include a poetry and music session with Maite Brazales and L'Ombra at Pollensa Cultural Centre, wotzupnorth blog spot reports, Xeremiers Orats, reggae music, DJs Manuela M, Lucia Barbiero, Miss Erika and Cristina Molina as well as poetry from Maria Antònia Massanet.
