Hundreds of plastic rubber ducks are thrown into the sea in front of the Hotel Sol y Mar to be fought over by swimmers, eager to collect one as a prize.
Around 3,000 spectators - both locals and those on holiday in Majorca - gather along the bay to watch the crazy antics.
Up until a couple of years ago, the action was even more frenetic, as live ducks were used. Despite this being illegal, the event went on annually, costing the council dearly in fines.
