Anyone planning a holiday in Majorca in October should make sure they ensure to see the annual Fiesta de Santa Catalina Tomas.
Taking place on the third Saturday in October, the festival involves the whole town of Santa Margalida coming together to present a lively procession through the streets to honour the patron saint Catalina Tomas.
Many children dress up as the devil and run about Majorca streets playing tricks on locals and holidaymakers, while some young girls are even selected to represent Catalina Tomas for the duration of the activities.
Santa Margalida, close to Palma Nova, is a popular resort with visitors taking a Majorca holiday because of its relaxed and more sedate atmosphere compared to the island's other hotspots such as Palma and Magaluf. .
The Spanish town boasts a stunning gothic church and its large square is a great place for tourists to indulge in some people watching while enjoying a meal or a drink at one of the many restaurants and bars in the area.
Holidaymakers interested in visiting the fiesta might like to consider the family-friendly Voranova Apartments, which are located in Palma Nova.
