Britons looking for a sunny summer holiday are in luck after long term forecasts have predicted hot weather.
The Spanish meteorological office, Centro de Estudios Ambientales del Mediterraneo, revealed the information about Majorca at the weekend.
While showers and humidity are predicted for spring, come summer temperatures will be "hotter than average" according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
The publication notes that summer 2008 in Majorca is expected to be between half a degree and one degree warmer than usual.
"During the heat wave of 2003 the temperature was about two to three degrees higher than average, which means that this year will be slightly warmer with an average of 37 degrees in the south and between 30 and 32 degrees in the east," Fermin Elizaga, head of the forecast section at the Spanish met office, commented.
He also noted that temperatures could be expected to go quite high over the summer.
The Costa Blanca News recently reported that forecasts expected September to be fairly hot this year across Spain and its territories.
