| People considering whether to book a cheap flight to Majorca may wish to heed the praise local politicians have reportedly lavished on the island. The Balearic destination has been described as the "jewel in the crown" of Spain''s vacation industry, the Majorca Daily Bulletin relayed. Tomas Gomez, socialist party secretary in Madrid, apparently made the comment during a trip to the island''s capital Palma. "Many people from Madrid are going to continue enjoying their holidays here," he was quoted as saying. Those planning a trip to Majorca this year have a range of options for entertainment, as there are a plethora of gigs and special events planned. An annual BBC Radio 1 event at BCM Planet Dance in Maguluf is taking place later this week (August 21st and 22nd), where hip-hop DJ Tim Westwood and Judge Jules will be providing the tunes. September 13th will see Clubland hold its yearly end-of-summer bash at the same venue, titled the Night of Your Life. N-Force are among the acts on the bill at the party. ![]() |
