| People who love nothing more than a cooling dip in the midday sun during a vacation may be encouraged to book a cheap flight to Majorca this year. This is because is the destination is now home to a brand new €2.6 million (£22.4 million) swimming centre, which a team of British sporting stars will soon be taking advantage of. Located in Colonia de Sant Jordi on the south coast of the island, the Blue Water Elite Swimming Training Centre will play host to a number of specialist sessions. Announcing the move, British Swimming national performance director Michael Scott remarked: "This world class training facility will assist … [us] over the coming three years to attain … [our] goal of improved performances at the World and Olympic levels." The pool is also available to the public, who can also pay for the use of facilities such as an onsite gym and massage room.  |
